ETI Identity Curriculum Writer Position
Empowerment Through Integration (ETI) is a 501(c)3 certified non-profit that propels disadvantaged blind youths to explore and achieve their career goals. ETI began in 2009 as a one-month summer camp for 39 sighted children and visually impaired children in Tripoli, Lebanon. Eventually, we hope to offer these programs in many nations and further our commitment to improve society by changing one life at a time.
ETI is currently recruiting Curriculum Team volunteers to assist our Curriculum Team in the development of our Identity curriculum unit for our summer camp (Camp Rafiqi) in Lebanon. The Curriculum Team currently consists of passionate, hard-working volunteers who are eager to design and implement successful international ETI camps and workshops. The Identity Curriculum Team volunteer will report to the Curriculum Manager.
- Design activities and lesson plans for our summer camp in Lebanon (Camp Rafiqi) that aim at empowering blind children, strengthen their identities and increase awareness about their capabilities as well as promote dialogue and understanding about disabilities among both sighted and blind youth
- Collaborate with the International Programs Team for the development of online training of volunteers for the implementation of Identity curriculum during Camp Rafiqi
- Collaborate with the International Programs Team with localizing the Lebanon curriculum
- Participate in weekly Curriculum Team calls and assist with the completion of unit tasks and responsibilities
The Identity Curriculum Team volunteer will need to be comfortable working as a part of a team. Ideally this individual will be able to contribute 3-4 hours per week to this position. Interests in curriculum development, social work, identity, sociological and team building practices are strongly preferred.
