Development & External Relations Consultant

Empowerment Through Integration (ETI) is a 501(c)3 certified non-profit that is working to promote the development of an inclusive society by transforming the social stigma against disability across the globe. We create integrated, supportive spaces with life skills training, emotional support, and community service opportunities. Through these integrated spaces, they are able to break down internal and external barriers surrounding views on ability in order to create positive change in society. Our ultimate goal is to enable society to understand that inclusion of all is a value for all.

ETI is currently seeking a consultant with demonstrated experience in successful nonprofit fundraising and external relations to join our team for a contracted period of 3 months, with possibility for renewal.

This individual will work directly with ETI’s Chief Executive Officer to ensure that strategic fundraising targets are being met and development and external resources are being used to their fullest potential to meet these targets. The Consultant will be responsible for managing Development and External Relations Directors, translating organizational strategy and needs into actionable goals.


  • Collaborate with the CEO in setting and driving organizational vision and operational strategy, specifically related to development/fundraising/external relations

  • Manage Development and External Relations Directors

    • Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth

    • Helping to implement organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning

    • Provide strategic direction and support to departments in meeting ambitious quarterly and annual fundraising targets


  • Provide direct management to ETI departmental directors (Development and External Relations)

  • Develop actionable strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the CEO

  • Review weekly departmental reports (Development and External Relations) and write weekly organizational fundraising report for presentation to CEO

  • Oversee organizational and departmental expenses, budgeting and annual tax filings to ensure the organization achieves targets and meets growth and strategic goals

  • Monitor performance with tracking and establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports, both current and forecasting



  • Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree required; Possession of a Master’s Degree in Business or related field preferred

  • 5+ years professional experience in non-profit setting with direct management experience and executive leadership experience

  • Demonstrated strategic fundraising experience required

  • Experience working in an international non-profit a plus

  • Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity

  • Be able to diagnose problems quickly and have foresight into potential issues

  • Experience in developing and implementing organizational strategic plans

  • Strong delegation capabilities

  • Experience managing director-level personnel

  • Exceptional interpersonal, listening and communication skills

  • Strong writing skills

  • Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and ability to manage and oversee many projects at once

  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Mail Chimp, Salesforce, and others


Part-time 15-20 hours per week

Offering $7,500 stipend for 3-month contract
