DIRECTOR OF PROGRAM OPERATIONS (beirut, Lebanon)
Empowerment Through Integration (ETI) is non-profit organization registered in Lebanon (MOI Registration#: 6515/2017) that is changing the narrative surrounding disability both for blind and sighted youth. We create integrated, supportive spaces with life skills training, emotional support, and community service opportunities. Through these integrated spaces, they are able to break down internal and external barriers surrounding views on ability in order to create positive change in society. Our ultimate goal is to enable society to understand that inclusion of all is a value for all.
ETI is currently seeking an experienced Director of Program Operations. This Director will be responsible for ensuring proper coordination associated with all NGOs internal systems and personnel training, performances and overall productivity. The area of responsibility for this position requires professionals who have thorough knowledge of NGO’s management systems, as well as program delivery and services. Individuals who will be considered for this position will have a demonstrated passion for the inclusion and empowerment of individuals with disabilities, as well as being highly organized, goal-oriented, efficient, able to manage a dynamic, culturally diverse and international team.
Program Management & Oversight
Recruit and supervise all ETI program managers in Lebanon;
Oversee the execution of all Empowerment Programs in Lebanon;
Design and administer regular staff training to support ETI staff in accomplishing goals;
Ensure that all Empowerment programs are coherent with guidance and decisions of ETI Lebanon board;
Ensure horizontal coherence during execution of all Empowerment Programs in Lebanon;
Supervise and manage all ETI Lebanon staff & program managers in different locations in Lebanon;
Coordinate with ETI USA Empowerment Programs Director and ETI Lebanon staff and volunteers to ensure successful program implementation in all regions in Lebanon according to ETI USA Empowerment Programs’ guidelines and procedures;
Supervise Monitoring & Evaluation of ETI Lebanon’s programs and activities on the ground;
Coordinate with ETI Country Director the development of annual work plans for ETI Lebanon staff and support team in meeting programmatic targets per region.
Coordinate with ETI Country Director and ETI global leadership ensure proper administration and financial management according to ETI’s policies and regulations;
Lead the composition and submission of programmatic and financial reports to ETI USA and partner organizations and ensure regular budget monitoring and updating;
Coordinate the recruitment, hiring, and/or management of local ETI staff and volunteers, as needed;
Execute and manage local employee contracts.
Type of position: Full-time (40 hours/week) – service contract agreement
Monthly Salary: USD $2,250.00/month
Duration: 2-year contract
Probation period: 3 months from start date
Start day: June 1st, 2019
University Degree preferably in Business Administration & Management, Administration, Economics, Education, Social Work or related field.
At least 4-6 years of experience as program and/or operations director for international or national NGOs and/or UN entities (e.g. UNICEF, UNRWA, UNHCR, UNDP) in the field of education and/or disabilities and inclusion;
Experience in program and data management, supervision and management of staff and volunteers, production of reports, designing of tools and strategies for program monitoring and implementation;
Strong program oversight and management skills and comfortable working with diverse staff and volunteer population;
Excellent multitasker with outstanding time management skills;
Strong skills associated with designing and implementing long term work plans and managing NGO’s and programs’ budgets;
Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English (mandatory).
The ETI Director of Program Operations will need to be comfortable working as part of a team, working independently and virtually from multiple locations and formal and informal work spaces, attend meetings in multiple locations in Lebanon (including, but not limited to Great Beirut area, Tripoli, Bekaa) and participate in various projects related to training and advocacy about social issues related to blindness in different contexts.
Professionals with proven background in humanitarian and/or UN initiatives and/or related fields, and experience in programs for blind youth are strongly preferred.
