Country director - Lebanon

Empowerment Through Integration (ETI) is a 501(c)3 certified non-profit that is changing the narrative surrounding disability both for blind and sighted youth. Through educational, recreational and service programs and activities we strive to empower blind youth to be the authors of their own futures and to demonstrate to all children that disability is just another part of the human experience.  Through these integrated spaces, internal and external barriers surrounding views on ability are broken down in order to create positive change in society. Our ultimate goal is to enable society to understand that inclusion of all is a value for all.

Empowerment Through Integration is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as the Country Director for the Lebanon branch. As we continue to grow and expand our programs in Lebanon, we are seeking a Director who is dedicated, passionate, professional and eager to work through ETI to improve the lives of blind and sighted youth in Lebanon and across the Middle East and North Africa region.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acting as the strategic head and leader of ETI Lebanon and implement the vision of ETI
  • Develop organizational structure, policies, and procedures for ETI Lebanon in collaboration with the ETI Lebanon Board
  • Establish short- and long-term goals for programmatic and organizational growth
  • Develop and maintain strategic plan for Country Branch in line with ETI global initiatives
  • Maintain and grow strategic partnerships in Lebanon and the MENA region
  • Act as main liaison between ETI Lebanon and ETI Lebanon Board
  • Head fundraising efforts within Lebanon to support and grow regional programming
  • Establish sustainable funding sources to move towards financial independence
  • Develop annual and multi-year budgets
  • Review current organizational structure and propose changes
  • Hire, coach, evaluate, discipline and/or discharge employees as necessary
  • Identify and lead staff professional development initiatives at the individual and group levels and identify strategies to retain and keep staff motivated
  • Oversee programmatic implementation
  • Ensure that all ETI programs align with ETI mission and values
  • Oversee all programmatic budgets and workplans
  • Ensure all programs are executed on schedule and within budget

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Advanced degree (MBA or other relevant degree) with 5+ years of senior management experience or have a bachelor’s degree in business or a related field with 7+ years of senior management experience.
  • Experience hiring, managing and mentoring both experienced and junior staff members required
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic plans required
  • Strong computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office, Mail Chimp, and Salesforce required
  • Past success in fundraising and development of strategic partnerships is strongly preferred
  • Creative and efficient problem solver and strategic thinker
  • Excellent writer and have experience writing successful grant proposals and other strategic documents
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills with fluency in both English and Arabic
  • Passionate belief that with the proper training and opportunity blind youth can grow up to be productive and contributing members of society and live full and meaningful lives
  • Experience managing or working in the nonprofit is preferred
  • Experience working with youth, individuals with disabilities, or both is a plus
  • Experience in community organizing and bringing groups together to solve social problems
