Life Skill TRAINER (Lebanon)

Empowerment Through Integration (ETI) is a 501(c)3 certified non-profit that is changing the narrative surrounding disability both for blind and sighted youth. Through educational, recreational and service programs and activities we strive to empower blind youth to be the authors of their own futures and to demonstrate to all children that disability is just another part of the human experience. Through these integrated spaces, internal and external barriers surrounding views on ability are broken down in order to create positive change in society. Our ultimate goal is to enable society to understand that inclusion of all is a value for all.

ETI is currently recruiting up a part-time Life Skills Trainer who will be responsible for the design, organization and implementation of our Life Skills Program from February 1 – December 31, 2019 in the Mount Lebanon area. Life Skills Trainer will be required to visit our visually impaired participants at their respective homes to reinforce training associated with ETI’s Life Skills curriculum as well as train and oversee a team of eager, hard-working ETI volunteers on the ground as needed. Individuals who will be considered for this position will need to be organized, goal-oriented, efficient, and responsible for their own transportation to visit our visually impaired participants at their homes.


  • Visit visually impaired participants at their homes on a weekly basis and conduct 1h to 1h30min life skills sessions with participants and their families

  • Consult with international life skills trainers for training and curriculum updates

  • Manage logistics and execution of ETI’s Empowerment Programs, including: Parents Workshop, Volunteer Training, and Life Skills Programs

  • Act as liaison between ETI and partnering organizations for Life Skills Programs

  • Act as ETI point of contact for visually impaired participants and their families

  • Compose and maintain case files for each participant

  • Reporting associated with Life Skills Program including weekly, monthly and bi-annual reports

  • Lead the training of Life Skills Coordinators and volunteers in Lebanon (on-site) for the implementation of Life Skills Program and Parent Workshop

  • Collaborate with Life Skills Program’s team members with localizing and tailoring the curriculum according to each socio-cultural context

  • Collect feedback associated with the implementation of Life Skills Program and Parent Workshop in Lebanon

  • Assist ETI Monitoring & Evaluation team for the evaluation of Life Skills Programs as needed

  • Participate in ETI's team meetings (phone calls, Skype, etc) on a weekly basis

  • Respond to emails and other contact in a timely manner

  • Report to ETI Program Director


  • Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work, special education or similar field; or equivalent work experience. Graduate degree strongly preferred

  • 1 – 3 Years relevant experience in project/program coordination

  • Experience working with youth between the ages of 4 – 18 years old required

  • Experience working in programs for blind youth are strongly preferred

  • Experience in program management or coordination strongly preferred

  • Must be available and capable to travel to homes of participants around the Mount Lebanon area

  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail; ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task; and prioritize effectively

  • Must be comfortable working in local communities and walking/guiding blind and visually impaired children in the communities and neighborhoods including in Mount Lebanon and surrounding areas as well as refugee camps

  • Discretion, flexibility and the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure

  • Excellent written/verbal communication

Language Skills: Arabic + English




Monthly salary = $800 USD/month
