life skills program coordinator

ETI is currently recruiting up a part-time Life Skills Program Coordinator who will be responsible for the design, organization and implementation of our Life Skills Program from September 1 – December 31, 2018 in the Mount Lebanon area.

Life Skills Program Coordinators will be required to visit our visually impaired participants at their respective homes to reinforce training associated with ETI’s Life Skills curriculum as well as train and oversee a team of eager, hard-working ETI volunteers on the ground as needed. Individuals who will be considered for this position will need to be organized, goal-oriented, efficient, and responsible for their own transportation to visit our visually impaired participants at their homes.

Locations of our visually impaired participants who will need to be visited on a weekly basis include, but are not limited to: Mar Elias, Jnah, Chiyah, Badawi Camp, Tariq El Jdideh, Ain El Remeneh, Borj El Barajne and Sahra Chweifat.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Manage logistics and execution of ETI’s Empowerment Programs, including: Parents Workshop,
    Volunteer Training, and Life Skills Programs

  • Act as liaison between ETI and partnering organizations for Life Skills Programs

  • Act as ETI point of contact for visually impaired participants and their families

  • Compose and maintain case files for each participant

  • Reporting associated with Life Skills Program including weekly, monthy and bi-annual reports

  • Lead the training of Life Skills Coordinators and volunteers in Lebanon (on-site) for the
    implementation of Life Skills Program and Parent Workshop

  • Collaborate with Life Skills Program’s team members with localizing and tailoring the curriculum
    according to each socio-cultural context

  • Collect feedback associated with the implementation of Life Skills Program and Parent
    Workshop in Lebanon

  • Assist ETI Research Evaluation team for the evaluation of Life Skills Programs as needed

  • Participate in ETI's team meetings (phone calls, Skype, etc) on a weekly basis

  • Respond to emails and other contact in a timely manner

  • Report to ETI Lebanon Country Director

Position Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work, special education or similar field; or equivalent
    work experience. Graduate degree strongly preferred

  • 1 – 3 Years relevant experience in project/program coordination

  • Experience working with youth between the ages of 4 – 18 years old required

  • Experience working in programs for blind youth are strongly preferred

  • Experience in program management or coordination strongly preferred

  • Must be available and capable to travel to homes of participants around the Mount Lebanon

  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail; ability to work in a fast-paced environment,
    multi-task; and prioritize effectively

  • Must be comfortable working in local communities and walking/guiding blind and visually
    impaired children in the communities and neighborhoods including in Mount Lebanon and
    surrounding areas as well as refugee camps

  • Discretion, flexibility and the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure

  • Excellent written/verbal communication

  • Professional written and spoken fluency in Arabic and English

Position Type: Part-time; Approximately 20 hours per week. 

Estimated Salary: $800 USD/month
